Abstract

The aim of this paper is to show soft-porn literature is as conservative as sentimental narrative from the 21st century about emancipation of women. As Eva Illouz explains about Fifty Shades of Grey, the sexual dimension –based upon BDSM- is a pretext to promote the emancipation of women, through the culture of self-help. In the case of spanish narrative I assume that this literature is all the more regressive that in some successful novels it can be considered as a legitimation of gender violence.
