Abstract

The poetic work of Gabriel Celaya (1911-1991) is an extraordinary example of the singular link between poetry and history, which unfolds in different and complementary phases supported by a solid self referentiality. We will focus here on the final phases of his poetry, from the 70's until his death in 1991, after the death of the dictator Franco and free from the constraints of censorship. We will see how he continued developing the matrix of resistance and irreverence, with renewed cathegories of ontological vitalism as the collective conception of identity, social and cosmic involvement, oral performance, etc.
